According to an OpenAI blog post, ChatGPT will build memories on its own over time, though users can also prompt the bot to remember specific details — or forget them. OpenAI announces the release of its o1 model, which demonstrates complex reasoning capabilities. For example, the new model doubles its context window from 128,000 tokens in GPT-4o to 256,000 tokens in GPT-5.

OpenAI keeps multiple GPT models despite GPT-5 launch
